COMP L 172cc

Fully spec’d up for racing, the Atomik Comp L172cc, is the ultimate Atomik pit bike. Using a big bore YX 172cc engine, with heavy duty clutch and modified camshafts, The Comp L 172cc engine pumps out a whopping 19HP equipped with twin Oil Cooler to keep engine oil at optimum running temperature.  This engine also has incorporated a start-in-any-gear feature allowing you to quickly get back into the race, if you stall it. Hi-tensile 4130-chromoly tube frame, a steel alloy containing Chromium and Molybdenum, gives a tensile strength of 97,000 lbs per square inch, stronger and lighter than standard steel frames. The lightness of the frame design makes this pit bike very maneuverable on the track or trail, whilst retaining the strength to tackle the biggest jumps on any freestyle motocross (FMX) track. A CNC removable frame protector comes standard.

The Linkage Suspension frame allows for extra rear suspension travel and reducing the chances of bottoming out on those big jumps.  The rear end setup is coupled with a premium heavy-duty 1000lb DNM rear shock which is fully adjustable in rebound, compression and pre-load settings, to suit the riders weight, riding terrain conditions, and hardness and softness preferences. Completing the rear end, is a forged CNC swingarm.

The Mazzochi Inverted forks, are solidly attached to frame by a set of billet machined triple tree and CNC clamps. The front end is completed with Alloy Fat Bars coming standard on the Comp 172cc, giving you the confidence to tackle the biggest jumps without the bars bending on you.

An aftermarket CNC Fishlip muffler  on a 32mm race pipe increases power to 19HP and engine attitude is adjusted at the flick of a wrist of the throttle, immediately flowing fuel through the 26mm Molkt carby. Combined with an airbox, which gives the optimal air/fuel mixture in muddy conditions, a feature which is revolutionary in pit bike design. Throw in a genuine UniFilter option as standard for ultimate performance riding.

Comp 172cc sports a neat set of 7116 alloy rims, 14” on the front and 12” on the rears, a stronger alloy than 6061 type alloys. The  7116 alloys are heavily utilized by the aircraft and ordnance industries because of its superior strength. The 7116 alloy in the rim has also been T6 heat-treated, ensuring maximum tensile strength. It also comes with durable Kenda tyres, designed for sand and mud conditions and feature aggressive tall knob patterns for deeper terrain bite with sufficient knob spacing for self-cleaning. The 14” fronts and 12”inch rear Kenda Millville, one of the benchmark standards for pit bike tyres, also feature improved casing structure for sidewall stability at low pressures.
